November 18, 2025
Dear CO-OP Families,
As we close out Marking Period 1, we want to take a moment to thank you for your continued partnership and engagement during this exciting start to the 2025–2026 school year. The fall season at CO-OP has been filled with incredible learning, vibrant artistic expression, and meaningful community connection. As you review your student’s report card in PowerSchool, we encourage you to have thoughtful conversations at home about academic progress, artistic growth, and overall well-being.
We are thrilled to announce the arrival of Ms. Tami Gage, who officially joined our school on November 3, 2025, as CO-OP’s new Arts Director. Ms. Gage brings years of arts education leadership and a deep passion for student creativity. She has already begun working with our staff and students to further strengthen CO-OP’s dynamic arts programming, and we are incredibly excited to have her on board. We encourage families to say hello and introduce themselves when they attend upcoming events or reach out directly to her at 475-220-2411 if they have any questions related to the arts.
At the same time, we extend our deepest thanks and well wishes to Kennamon Meagher, who concluded their work with us at the end of the marking period. Kennamon made a positive impact as a special education teacher at CO-OP, and we wish them all the best as they continue their journey in the field of education.
We also want to highlight several ongoing reminders and updates as we move into the colder months:
Vaping Awareness:
Unfortunately, vaping continues to be a concern at CO-OP. We strongly encourage families to have open and honest conversations with their students about the health risks, addictive nature, and disciplinary consequences of vaping. Our school nurse is available to offer support and resources to families who need assistance in addressing this issue.
Attendance and Entry Procedures:
Daily, on-time attendance is a critical part of student success. Students should arrive prepared to enter the building through security, and we ask that they bring only what is necessary to speed up the entry process, especially as we move into colder weather and heavier outerwear. Doors open at 7:00 am, the first bell is at 7:25 am, and students are expected to be in class by 7:30 am, daily.
Technology and Yondr Update:
We are pleased with the success of our new Yondr phone pouch policy, which has helped create a more focused and distraction-free learning environment. Please note that replacement pouches now cost $40, and students will be required to purchase a new pouch if their original one is lost, damaged, or defaced.
Additionally, iPads are not an acceptable substitute for phones during the school day and should not be used for texting, social media, or other non-academic purposes. Unless required for instruction, we recommend students leave iPads at home. Likewise, large headphones should remain away unless specifically permitted by a teacher. We have school issued Chromebooks for use by all our students.
Peer Relationships and Community Culture:
We continue to focus on promoting kindness, empathy, and respect among students. Please take time to talk with your student about their friendships, their emotional well-being, and the importance of positive choices both in and outside of school. Our school counseling staff and social worker are happy to work with your student to support any social and emotional learning needs.
New Website & Performance Season:
We are excited to share that CO-OP has a new website! Please visit https://coop.nhps.net to access school calendars, contact information, important updates, and announcements. We will continue to update this platform with news and resources for families throughout the year.
We are also looking forward to the start of our 2025–2026 performance season, which begins with the Senior Theatre Production on Tuesday, November 18, 2025. We invite you to join us to celebrate our students’ creativity and hard work throughout the year!
Please remember that PowerSchool is the best tool for checking your student’s grades, attendance, and teacher communications. If you require help accessing the portal or resetting your password, feel free to contact the main office at any time.
On behalf of the CO-OP school team, thank you for your support, encouragement, and collaboration during the first marking period. We look forward to the continued success and growth of all our students as we move into the next part of the school year.
Sincerely,
Paul T. Camarco
Principal
